Myrtle Beach Dentist Continuing Care Matters

Myrtle Beach Dentist: Continuing Care

Our Myrtle Beach dentists know better than most that oral health problems are never fun. So if you want to sustain your healthy gums, teeth, breath and complete oral health, it is necessary to keep up with a continual care system day in and day out. Do not put off your oral health, it could already be too late. If an issue of the mouth arises, it is easy to tell when certain preventative measures could have been put it place with a simple continual oral care plan. Below is our variety of Myrtle Beach dentist treatments we offer to ensure that our clients can maintain a healthy mouth and stop dental problems in their tracks:

  1. Exams - Even if you thoroughly brush and floss daily, you need regular dental visits to have your smile healthy and bright. Regular visits also help your dentist become familiar with your teeth, making potential problems easier to spot in the long run. Preventive dental care is more economical, and much easier than emergency treatments. In addition, it’s the best way to help keep your smile healthy.

  2. Cleanings - The piezo ultrascaler aids the hygienist in removing dental plaque (both above the gumline and below the gumline), stains, and calculus (tartar). This is a more gentle instrument compared to the old traditional hand scalers that could leave the teeth with etches or grooves over time.

  3. X-rays - We use digital x-ray software, which has very low radiation. We can take individual x-rays of teeth that may be cracked or broken; we take routine cavity detecting bitewing x-rays every 6 months to a year at your dental hygiene visit; and we also take a panoramic x-ray every 3-5 years to view your entire mouth.

  4. Digital Imaging - We take digital photos of each new patient for our records. This includes retracted photos and intra-oral diagnosis. This allows the doctor to examine & evaluate patients with actual photos of their teeth as opposed to a hand recorded paper chart. We update the patients’ photos as needed throughout their history with Dr Markusen.

  5. Free Consultations for New Patients - We do not charge for a patients’ initial visit to our practice. This gives the patient the opportunity to discuss their dental concerns, meet Dr. Markusen & the DocMark staff, and have their questions answered. This also gives Dr. Markusen the opportunity to briefly examine the patients’ dental condition and make recommendations for the first step in treatment.

  6. Treatment Consultations - We do not charge for treatment consultations. Once Dr. Markusen has the necessary diagnostics to create a proper treatment for the patient, we schedule a consultation. At this appointment, the patient sits down with Dr Markusen and discusses his recommended treatment and any questions the patient has. If the patients specific condition allows, Dr. Markusen usually presents a couple of Myrtle Beach dentist treatment options. Questions are always encouraged.
